KCR, the chief minister of Telangana, has vowed to regularly assess the situation and has encouraged residents to stay inside unless there is an emergency.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Mumbai has issued an orange signal for the following three days. On Saturday, the financial hub of India was on "red" alert, although only 2.2mm of rain fell there. However, rain continued to batter various sections of Maharashtra, causing flooding in at least 130 villages across three districts, all in the Vidarbha and Marathwada regions. According to sources cited by news agency PTI, at least 200 people were evacuated.
The three districts that were hardest devastated by recent heavy rains are Gadchiroli, Hingoli, and Nanded (ending Saturday morning).
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued an order on Thursday forbidding residents from going to the sea beaches other than in the morning on days when either a "red" or "orange" alert is in effect. The directive from BMC commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal stated that on such days, only the hours of 6am to 10am could be used to access the municipal beaches.
This particular order is still in effect because to an orange alert in Mumbai that is in effect until July 12.
In addition to Maharashtra, the southern state of Telangana has experienced monsoon-related rains, leaving highways wholly or partially submerged. Up to eight districts have received a red alert from the Met department for the upcoming three days (till July 12). According to news agency ANI, flooding has been forecast in numerous locations in the north-northwest, northeast districts, and metropolitan areas due to water logging drainage overflow.

The meteorological office added that during the course of the next two days, Telangana will experience mild to moderate rain in most areas of the state.

Eight districts have received a "red" alert: Nirmal, Adilabad, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Mancherial, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and Nizamabad.
K Chandrashekar Rao, the chief minister of Telangana, has instructed chief secretary Somesh Kumar to inform all state departments and request that they exercise caution in light of the recent heavy rains.
To make sure the state is ready to handle the effects of the rain, the top bureaucrat will hold video conferences with district collectors. In flood-prone areas of the southern state, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and other rescue teams have also been urged to remain vigilant.
KCR stated that he will be monitoring the situation closely and has also asked people to stop taking risks while it is raining nonstop. He pleaded with them to take measures and advised them not to leave their houses unless it was truly necessary.
The most recent IMD advisory indicates that over Maharashtra, widespread rainfall with thunderstorms or lightning is extremely possible over the next five days. Meanwhile, Telangana is expected to have heavy to very heavy rainfall on July 9 and 10.
