This week, Xiaomi unveiled the Xiaomi 12S series, an iterative upgrade to the Xiaomi 12 series that debuted back in March, as the "S" signifier suggests. In the world of smartphones, after a company changes a phone series, the preceding line is typically either completely discontinued or recedes into obscurity. For instance, after the iPhone 5S was debuted, Apple stopped advertising the iPhone 5. Huawei ceased selling the Mate X when it introduced the Mate XS.
But not Xiaomi, which frequently releases phones with muddled naming conventions. The Xiaomi 12 Lite is the company's most recent model, and unlike the 12S series that was recently unveiled, it is a variation of the 12 series from March.
Confused? majority of us are. Whatever your opinion of Xiaomi's confusing naming conventions, there's no disputing that it produces some of the greatest mid-range phones. As I mentioned in my most recent Poco F4 review, Xiaomi's $300–$500 mid-range phones are often superior to those in this price bracket from everyone else, especially Samsung.
